What you should know before moving to Evergreen

The city gets lots of snow

Most Evergreen homes are located between 7,000 and 9,000 ft in altitude. There are regular heavy snow days with widespread snowfall. You shouldn’t worry. Although snow is common,  it will rarely disrupt your day because it only lingers on the ground or roads for a short time. Road crews do a great job clearing roads when snowfall is higher, which happens 10% of the time.

City property taxes are modest

Evergreen’s low property taxes offset the state tax and make homebuying easier. Residential properties are assessed at 7.96% of their market value, whereas commercial buildings are set at 29%.

Evergreen is near Denver

People who prefer major cities but don’t want to live there should consider Evergreen. Before returning home, spend the day in Denver exploring its restaurants, shops, and attractions. Evergreen has easy access to Colorado’s world-class ski resorts compared to other Denver suburbs.

Cost of living above average

Evergreen’s cost of living index is 158.8, 58.8% higher than the US average. This is primarily due to 63% higher housing costs than the national average. The average Evergreen house value is $883,615. But utility prices are 13% cheaper than the national average. Bus fares and petrol prices are close to the national average.
